Williamsburg/Yorktown

Williamsburg and Yorktown occupy the northwest corner of Arlington County. Many of the street names allude to Williamsburg and Yorktown’s prior inhabitants. The Powhatan tribe is known to have lived in the area prior to colonial settlement.

Minor Hill – the largest hill in Arlington – can be found in Williamsburg. This was a valuable resource during the Civil War, as the hills height allowed for observation and signal communication. The schools and proximity to East Falls Church Metro (accessible by bike, car and ART bus) are also worth mentioning. Nottingham Elementary just won the Governor's Award for Excellence and Yorktown High is consistently ranked one of the top high schools in the country.

Lee Highway is the main thoroughfare, and connects Williamsburg and Yorktown residents with I-66 and Route 7. Sycamore Street runs down to the East Falls Church Metro station. Metro bus service is also reliable. Williamsburg Boulevard and Yorktown Boulevard connect with Old Dominion.
